Sleek Makeup: Highlighting Palette.

Hello everyone! MERRY (one day belated) CHRISTMAS!!!! I hope you had an amazing celebration. We're almost at the end of the year! It has been five months since I posted my very first entry on this blog back in July. It's crazy how quickly 2014 has flown by.

On another note, I mentioned in my previous post that I would be doing separate posts on the Sleek Makeup's products that I had purchased. Today, I will be talking about the highlighting palette! I think that it's the most unique one out of the others in my haul. It's priced at USD14.99 on Sleek's official website.

↑ The packaging

↑ Highlighting palette in 029 Precious Metals

↬ Shade 1, Platinum
↬ Shade 2, Royal Gold

↬ Shade 3, Renaissance Gold
↬ Shade 4, Antique Bronze

Shades 1, 2 and 3 have velvety, creamy formulas, whereas Shade 4 has a powdery formula. With this palette, you can use any of the aforementioned shades on the inner corner of your eyes or on the brow bone, or even the tops of the cheekbones, as mentioned on the official website (link here!). But of course, one is not limited to its prescribed ways of using any makeup product. You can use it even on the bridge of your nose or on your cupid's bow. Simply put, use it on any features in which you want to bring out or complement.

As for myself, I would probably use this palette, not only for highlighting purposes, but as eyeshadows or eyeshadow bases. You could pop Platinum, Royal Gold and Renaissance Gold on your eyelids as eyeshadow bases and then layer on normal eyeshadows, which would in turn have more intensity. Antique Bronze is my thanggggg. I love my bronzy, brown shades! =3

I guess this is it for today! Sleek Makeup ships internationally to Brunei at an affordable shipping rate, so if you're looking for a good highlighting palette, this could just be it! I hope this has helped you in a way or another. Do leave a comment down below if you have any questions :D Thanks so much for reading!

Happy (advanced) New Year errbadeh!!! Here's to an amazing year-end and an even more amazing 2015...(and more makeup!!!)

Sleek Makeup Haul.

Hi errbadeh!! I don't know about you, but I often sign up to receive newsletters from websites (especially those that sell makeup) in order to get some inside scoop about discounts or sales! In October, there was a 25% discount provided on Sleek's website.....and that only means one thing: online shopping!

My order date for five items was made on the 22nd of October. The subtotal was USD68.95 and with the discount code applied, it was reduced to USD51.70! Might I also mention that the shipping to Brunei was free! So it was definitely a good deal! My packaged arrived nicely packed in a black box and with the items bubble-wrapped. Without further ado, here are ze pictures!

↑ New Skin Revive foundation in White Rose, USD11.99

↑ Eye & Cheek palette in Dancing Til Dusk, USD14.99

↑ Eye & Cheek palette in See You At Midnight, USD14.99

↑ I-Divine palette in Arabian Nights, USD11.99

↑ Precious Metals Highlighting palette, USD14.99

I can't wait to try them out! I feel that Sleek is one of the most affordable makeup brands that offer high quality. Blogposts on each of the aforementioned product will be up soon, along with more pictures and swatches! I actually have four other eyeshadow palettes which were bought last time. I should probably blog about them too yes? :D

Feel free to leave any questions in the comments section below if you have any! As always, thank you so much for reading!

Urban Decay - Pulp Fiction palette.

Hi errbadeh! I'm back for another blog post!

My homegurl who's at the UK currently sent me a goodie a month ago and it is Urban Decay's Pulp Fiction palette!!! Pulp Fiction was a movie released in 1994 and it starred Uma Thurman as Mia Wallace, which this palette is based upon. Not knowing anything about the movie, I asked my mom about it and wanted her opinion if the eyeshadow shades truly scream Mia Wallace's character, and mom said yes. So, well done UD!

I've always wanted a small palette with neutral and warm shades that is suitable for travelling. And since I don't have any of Urban Decay's Naked Basic palettes, Pulp Fiction it is!

↑ The box that the palette comes in. Sleek and straight to the point, Pulp Fiction style!

↑ Back of the box.

↑ The packaging of the palette.

↑ The palette, with 5 eyeshadows and a brush.

↑ The dual ended brush included in this palette, in which the bristles are very dense (love it!).

↑ Righteous, Tyranny, Vengeance, Furious, Anger.
(Awesome names for an awesome character)

Here are the swatches applied dry, without any eyeshadow base and under white LED lighting.

(L-R)
↬ Righteous - a light cream matte shade.
↬ Tyranny - a burnt brown shade with a little orange undertone.
↬ Vengeance - a medium-dark brown shade with a satin finish.

(L-R)
↬ Furious - a light, shimmery white shade (perfect for highlighting the inner corners of the eyes!).
↬ Anger - a black shade with a satin finish.

/rant
(I was expecting the Furious to be the black shade and Anger to be the white one. That's because, from what I can see, the palette above shows the black one above the white one, with the names labelled as "Furious/Anger". But I thought to myself, "Black sounds angrier than it sounds furious", so I double-checked UD's official website to be sure. Turns out that I was right, black is angrier than it is furious. Perhaps the shadows were potted in this particular palette of mine wrongly as the one on UD's official website had the white shade on top of the black one, as opposed to mine.)
/rantover

Regardless of the misplaced/mis-potted eyeshadow, this palette has some amazing color pay-off! They are that pigmented, even without the need to apply them on any base or eyeshadow primer. But one thing though, the eyeshadows are a little chalky so having fallouts is likely. That wouldn't be a problem for me as I can always apply my eyeshadows first and wipe away the fallouts with a facial wipe prior to applying foundation and the likes.

I haven't come across any online sellers in Brunei that carries this particular palette, except for @theitgirlbn (click here for link!). This palette is priced at BND64. If you are interested in it, just holla at them!

I hope that this post has helped you! Thank you so much for reading and if you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment below. Have a great weekend ahead of you!

LORAC Cosmetics - Mega PRO palette.

Hello errbadeh! My exam just ended yesterday and I'm back to blogging!

When LORAC announced that they were going to come up with a palette that has 32 eyeshadows, everyone was pretty hyped about it. So hyped that the palette was sold out and even discontinued a few days after the palette's official release. I've always wanted to get my hands on LORAC PRO palettes 1 and 2 but always never decided to in the end. But when I heard about the Mega one, I know I just had to get it and thankfully managed to before it was discontinued.

Without further ado, here are ze pictures!

This is how the packaging looks, it feels so smooooth.

All the 32 eyeshadows!
The first two rows are matte and the last two rows are shimmery.
The eyeshadows are placed from light to dark, from left to right.

These are the matte shades.

Cream - a light beige perfect to be placed on the brow bone!
Fawn - a light peachy beige shade
Camel - a brown shade with a tint of orange tone
Sepia - a muted brown shade perfect to be used as a transition color

White - a white shade.....with a little bit of shimmer
Khaki - a light, neutral brown shade with a little bit of shimmer
Brown - a medium-brown shade
Stone - a purple-toned gray

Dusty Plum - a muted rose gold shade
Orchid - a muted pink shade
Mulberry - a medium-dark berry red shade (looks a tad darker in picture than it does real life)
Espresso - a chocolatey dark brown shade

Lilac - a light purple shade
Wisteria - a muted, medium-plum shade
Gray - yep, a gray shade (looks very much like my sixth form uniform back in Maktab Sains)
Black - a medium-dark black, has a littttle shimmer

Now, the eyeshadows that have sparklez and shimmerz.

Opal - a white shade, with a tad tint of gold flakes
Sand - a light gold shade
Copper - a light golden-brown shade
Sienna - a medium-dark brown shade

Vanilla - an off-white shade
Cashmere - a light, metallic beige shade
Smokey Topaz - a light, golden-brown shade
Dusty Rose - a muted, pinkish brown shade

Apricot - a peachy shade
Blush - a light pink shade
Merlot - a muted, medium-dark purple
Indigo - a navy blue shade

Granite - a dark brown shade
Maroon - a bronzy shade
Deep teal - an emerald-teal shade
Caviar - a medium-dark black

I purchased this palette from Pretty_Women_Go_Shopping on Facebook for BND110 and waited about a month over for it to arrive. I thought that was pretty good deal because the prices on eBay and Amazon are crazy-ass prices, like BND150-and-above kind of crazy (ferrealz no joke k).

I guess that's all for now! I hope this post has helped you in a way or another. Thank you for reading and have a great weekend ahead of you.

Sigma 3DHD™ is here!

Hi everyone! I've finally found the time to blog. My exams are just around the corner and I'm sitting for my first paper in two weeks' time. So I've been busy revising and trying to complete all assignments and module tasks at the same time. Now I'm currently taking an hour or two to get away from all the notes and books and here I am!

Today, this post will be dedicated to Sigma's 3DHD™brushes. I signed up for the membership a year ago and I receive e-mails from them that feature their latest products all the time. Then one day, they made pre-release email about their latest and newest 3DHD™brushes and I knew I had to get them once they are released (because I LOOOVE their F80 kabuki brush!). So I signed up to be notified once those 3DHD™brushes are officially released.

I placed my order on Sigma's official website (link here!) on the 5th of October and it arrived Brunei three weeks later. There are currently two brushes under the 3DHD™line: Kabuki and Precision, and there are three colors to choose from: white, black and pink. I chose my brushes to be white because my 4-pieces Sigma kabuki set is already in black and my Sigma Mrs. Bunny Essential Kit is in blue so..white seemed like the perfect choice to make.

The prices are as follows:

↬ 3DHD™ Kabuki - USD24.00
↬ 3DHD™ Precision - USD21.00
↬ Shipping fee to Brunei - USD16.25

I paid USD61.25 (≈ BND79.00) altogether. As some of you know, Shop@Sarah's carries Sigma products. The Precision brush is sold at BND34.90 and Kabuki one at BND39.90. Both cost a total of BND74.80 and is cheaper than buying from Sigma's official website. If you are looking into buying them, doing so at Shop@Sarah's would be a good option because it's cheaper and you need not wait for your parcel to arrive. Feel free to comment down below if you have any questions! :)

Here are the pictures.

Sleek, beautiful packaging as usual!

The brushes are put in a transparent plastic wrap, upon being put in another box (which looks like the one that holds Jolibee's pita sandwich or McD's apple pie!)

As the name 3DHD suggests, the brushes are designed to be 3 dimensional. What it does (got these off the website):

↬ Ridge: The functional ridge at the top of the brush has the perfect angle to apply liquid, cream or powder products reaching every curve, crease and angle. Designed with a structure that is effortlessly multifunctional, 3DHD™ will do all the work for you, without having to move a single muscle of the face (I usually scrunch up my face when applying foundation with a brush so I assume that by using this brush, I could avoid making the currently-applying-foundation-on-my-face face).

↬ Double wedge flat surface: Allows application of liquid, cream or powder products on flat or slightly curved areas of the face in two simple steps. First, apply product using one side of the wedge, then use the second (clean) side of the brush to smooth the surface and eliminate any streaks.

↬ Point: The sharp point of the brush can be used for highly precise application of cream, liquid and powder products. The point allows products to be perfectly applied in the under eye area and around the mouth.

↬ Dimensions and density of fibers: The dimensions of the brush head were developed to provide fast product application, while the density of the fibers allows for buffing products onto the skin. The fine fibers allow for coverage of skin pores.

Free gifts are packaged properly in an envelope!

Sample of their Smoke Screen palette.

Sample of their Warm Neutrals palette (loveee!).

Though I paid around BND5 more by purchasing online rather than purchasing it at Shop@Sarah's, I didn't mind at all because along with my brushes, came some goodies/free gifts! It's always cool when a company goes the extra mile in sending their customers free gifts. Good job, Sigma!

I guess this is it for now. Gotta get back to the boring part of my life now: the academics. I will be going on a short hiatus until I'm done with my exams, that'll be the end of November. But watch this space as I've got some good stuff to blog about!

I hope this post has helped you and thank you so much for reading. Good night!

Silver Edge.

Hi errbadeh! Last Saturday was a fun-filled one indeed. The beau and I were invited to a wedding reception at Empire. For the dinner, I decided to use some BH Cosmetics' products that I have never used yet - the 6 color & blush palette, Eyes On The 70s palette and the rose gold brush set. Without further ado, here are ze pictures!

Eyes:

Using Bobbi Brown black gel liner and angled liner brush #1, I first mapped out the wing shape that I would like.
↬ Applied black eyeshadow #3 according to the winged shape drawn previously, only covering the outer third of eyelid.
↬ Applied silver eyeshadow #1 across the entire lid where it's left empty without the black eyeshadow.
↬ Applied light purple eyeshadow #2 on the centre of lid to create a little dimension so the whole eyelook won't look too monochromatic.
↬ Used tapered blending brush #3 to blend everything altogether.

Base/Face:

↬  Used Benefit POREfessional's primer as base.
↬  Applied Tarte Amazonian clay foundation and Tarte maracuja creaseless concealer under my eyes - classic foundation brush #1.
↬  Powdered T-Zone and under eyes with powder 2 - powder brush #3.
↬  Bronzed cheeks with powder 3 and blush powder 4 - angled brush #2.

↬ Used Anastasia Beverly Hills' dipbrow pomade to fill in and shape brows.
↬ ACurled lashes and coated them with Essence's Lashes Go Wild mascara.
↬ Tightlined only upper lash line using 3 Concept Eyes waterproof eyeliner [skipped using the basic eyeliner because I didn't want the eyelook to look too top-heavy].

Lips:

↬ NYX's soft matte lip cream in Copenhagen.

With this look, I started off with doing my eyes first because if I happen to make any mistakes and if any cleaning up is required, I can do so without worrying that I would mess up my foundation/base. Also, since I was working with a darker eyeshadow, I was worried that there might be fallouts.

I guess that's all for now! Thanks for reading and have great week ahead of you.

NYX soft matte lip creams.

Hello everyone! I am very excited to share this post with you because it'll be about something that I love love love. It's none other than NYX's soft matte lip creams! I have featured a few shades in previous blog posts (links here!: Paddle PopNaked BronzeSelfish Silver SmokePurple LineBronzed).

I think you might be able to tell that NYX's soft matte lip creams represent my very-much used lip products, ever. They are pigmented, they don't dry up your lips and they smell like heaven! The pictures and swatches below will show you why!

(L-R) Zurich, Ibiza, Addis Ababa, Prague, Monte Carlo, Copenhagen.

↬ Zurich.
↬ Nude shade (my perfect nude!) that doesn't make you look too washed out. Perfect for everyday use when you just want a subtle pop of color on your lips.

↬ Ibiza.
Dark peach shade.
 Featured here! Purple Line

↬ Addis Ababa.
↬ Barbie pink shade.
↬ Featured here! Paddle Pop

↬ Prague.
↬ Dark purple shade (my favourite one out of all!).
↬ Featured here! Selfish Silver Smoke and Bronzed.

↬ Monte Carlo.
Blue-toned red shade; pin-up red shade.
↬ Featured here! Naked Bronze

↬ Copenhagen.
↬ Wine shade; dark berry shade.
↬ I've yet to try this as I just got it recently. But I know I'm going to love it as much as I do Prague! It seems to be a little darker than Prague (but at least it doesn't look as it does in its tube...).

I purchased Zurich, Ibiza and Prague from Urban Outfitters (link here!). You can get the soft matte lip creams for USD6 from the website, that ships to Brunei at a flat rate of USD30 so you could buy as many products (not just NYX) as you want to maximise the international shipping fee.

However, if you don't wish to buy them online as you need to wait for approximately three weeks to a month, you can get them at Shop@Sarah's at Seri Kiulap Mall. But I don't recommend because they cost roughly BND16 (I purchased Monte Carlo there which I felt ripped off about).

As aforementioned, I just recently purchased Copenhagen from a dear friend who sells makeup products on her Instagram (@blushnsmudge_bn). Great customer service too! I got Copenhagen for BND13 which is BND3 cheaper than what you would get from Shop@Sarah's. BND3 is actually a lot of difference (to me at least) because..add 20cents and you can buy yourself some Thien-Thien chicken rice!!! Do follow her makeup page for more, you won't regret it!

I hope this post has helped you in one way or another. You need at least one soft matte lip cream in your lipstick collection! Butttt, please don't blame me if you decide to have more than one after that hehe. Once again, thank you so much for reading! Have a great weekend ahead of you!
