Mini BH Cosmetics Haul pt. 2.

Duh-hello errbadeh! In my previous post (link here!), I got BH Cosmetics' Sculpt And Blend brush set which comes with 10 brushes. Since this particular set is only meant for face/base (but that doesn't limit the brushes' uses to only those specific areas), I decided to get another because BH's stuff are really affordable! There are many brush sets to choose from, pretty ones too at that! But I had already laid my eyes upon the Rose Gold brush set when it was launched a few months ago. So, the Rose Gold one it is! Order was placed on the 2nd of September and it arrived Brunei approximately two and a half weeks after.

Here are some pictures!

Set comes with a bag, which properly stores 15 brushes.
Flap covering the bristles prevents them from being ruined.
Handy when you need to pack it for travelling, but for my case, definitely convenient when I get ready for performances!

I managed to sneak in a little something something for my brows in this purchase :D

Flawless Brow Trio in Medium

Consists of a tinted wax (to groom and shape brows) and two different shades of brow powders (for filling in gaps).
Also includes a double-ended nylon brush.

At the time of my purchase, the above brush set costed USD16.95 and brow defining kit costed USD4.95. One thing that doesn't tickle my fancy is that the brushes in both (Sculpt and Blend and Rose Gold) sets are not labeled. I had to refer to the website in order to get their names right. But that shouldn't be a problem if one would often use the brushes frequently.

I guess that's all for now! Thank you so much for reading and have a great weekend ahead of you!

Drugstore Haul

Hello pretty earthlings! Brunei has very little physical shops that sell makeup and Paloma is one of them. Paloma carries mostly drugstore makeup from Europe and they are Catrice Cosmetics and Essence. And let me tell you, they are affordable! I don't know why it took me so long to actually purchase some of their products, but better late than never right? So a week ago I decided to drop by Paloma to window shop but there isn't such thing as window shopping when it comes to makeup, is there?

Fortunately I have Paloma's membership card which entitles me to a 15% discount (yay!). Prices that are bolded are the normal prices whereas the ones that are italicised below are discounted prices. Without further ado, here are the stuff I picked up!

Catrice Cosmetics

  • Photo Finish 18H liquid foundation in 020 Rosy Beige (there were only two shades available so I chose the lightest one) - BND9.90 BND8.40
  • Absolute Eye Colour palette in 100 F'rosen Yoghurt
  • Liquid Metal eyeshadow in 050 We're The Inner Purple - BND5.90 BND5.00
  • Ultimate Colour lipstick in 020 Maroon (this is actually my third lipstick from this line because they are very pigmented and moisturising!) - BND5.90 BND5.00

Close up and swatches (without any primer or base) of F'rosen Yoghurt

Again, without any primer or base!

Essence

  • All About Matt! oil control, pore-refining, base
  • Lashes Go Wild (volumising) mascara - BND3.90 BND3.00
  • ♥ Stage eyeshadow base - BND3.90 BND3.00
  • Metal Glam eyeshadow in 05 Chocolate Jewellery - BND3.90 BND3.30

Close up of the mascara wand, which is quintuple-bubble shaped, can give extra volume

(No swatches because I'm saving it for another separate blogpost featuring the other 2 lipsticks from the same line :D)

So sorry that prices for both Catrice's F'rosen Yoghurt palette and Essence's All About Matt! are not listed. That's because they were bought separately and unfortunately I lost the receipt. But if my memory serves me correctly, F'rosen Yoghurt should cost about BND7.90 and All About Matt!, BND3.90.

There are many other color selections for the eyeshadow palettes, single eyeshadows as well as lipsticks available at Paloma. I hope this post has helped you in deciding what you probably would want to get the next time you pay a visit there :D.

Paddle Pop.

Hello pretty earthlings!! Last night, my family and I threw a surprise birthday dinner for my great-aunt as it was her 80th birthday. According to Chinese tradition, when someone turns 80 years old, it calls for a grand celebration. Same goes when a baby turns exactly one month old.

So for the dinner, I decided to bust out my BH Cosmetics' Eyes On The 80's palette (since great-aunt turned 80..geddit geddit?) and use it for the very first time. I had no idea which shades to use because there are just so many to choose from, but I did end up with some pink and purple, and a speck of gold.

Without further ado, here are the products I used!

Base/Face:

  • Essence All About Matt! primer/base
  • Makeup Forever HD foundation
  • Tarte Maracuja Creaseless concealer
  • Catrice Cosmetics Prime And Fine "mattifying" powder

  • Take shade '3' first and apply on the outer V of eyelid. Slowly add and build intensity to map out the shape of the entire eye-look prior to applying other eyeshadows on entire eyelid. As opposed to applying the darkest shade last, applying it first can save you the hassle of applying everything again from the beginning if you mess up (like getting a weird "tail" of the look). I find this helpful!
  • Upon achieving the desired shape, proceed to add shade '2' to the centre of eyelid. Blend it to shade '3' to ensure that there are no obvious, harsh lines.
  • Dab with your ring finger on shade '1' and slightly apply it on the inner most corner of eyelid. This particular shade is very pigmented so applying with fingers will make it appear to be more vibrant. Also, this shade acts as a highlighting shade as the previous two shades lean towards the darker side.
  • Apply '1', '2' and '3' on lower lash line to balance out the entire eye-look, so it won't look too top-heavy.

  • Anastasia BH Dipbrow pomade in Ebony
  • Anastasia BH tinted brow gel in Chocolate
  • Catrice Cosmetics liquid liner in Dating Joe Black (thank you Nikkie!)
  • Yves Saint Laurent Babydoll mascara
  • NYX soft matte lip cream in Addis Ababa

Taken using Canon Powershot, without flash, only LED light.

Taken using iPhone 5S.
(which looks more flattering as Chrome, my default filter, really does bring out the colors!)
((which goes to show that this look is awesome because selfies using a phone is the way to go))

I guess that's it! If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to drop me a message below. I hope everyone has had a great weekend, because I certainly did! I've finally graduated from UBD on Saturday *throws confetti*. But wait, here comes Masters *picks up confetti, one by one*.

Have a great week ahead of you and as always, thank you for reading!
